Using a histogram

- In this story, we're going to look at how to use a histogram, which is this little guy right here. This measures luminance and it's a little bit different than the Waveform Monitor as we'll see, but one thing I should point out is that I'm here in Red Cine X. There is a histogram, of course, in, you know, all the color grading apps including Premiere, which we've been looking at, but the one in Premiere and also in After Effects that uses Lumetri Scopes, which is sideways for some reason. That is, we'll see, this is not just an aesthetic preference. This doesn't make as much sense to me, and I, I don't prefer it; I'm not sure why it's like that, and maybe you'll agree with me or disagree with me after going through this tutorial. But here we are, and basically what this does, is that the left side of the histogram represents pure black. The right side of the histogram represents pure white, and then everything in…
