Using in-progress reports to communicate with clients

- As the project manager, you need to be an excellent communicator. This reduces risk and cuts down on stress. One of the most important things you need to provide is an in-progress report. What's happening here is you are communicating to the client, as well as stakeholders, where the project is at. This means you need to be able to update them about progress and how things are moving along. It's very important here to be proactive. You want to communicate regularly about what's going on. And not delay bad news. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't take corrective action, or if it's small, that you just fix it. You don't have to tell them everything that goes wrong. But if there is bad news and you delay it, it just makes things worse. Don't be overly optimistic or pessimistic. The key here is to be realistic.
