- [Instructor] The zMatte node is the number of inputs and there are two additional inputs that are quite useful. The holdout matte inputs and the garbage matte inputs, and these are designed to accept mask inputs. The holdout mask is one that restores part of the foreground that the keyer may have removed. The garbage mask is one that cuts out the unwanted garbage, or unwanted parts of the frame. You can use RotoNode to create new masks and then connect them. Let's give that try. We'll drag two Rotos into the tree area and I'll select the first one. Then I'll click the view node button for zMatte so I can see it. Let's start by drawing a garbage mask to remove the tabletop. I do need to make sure my overlay button's on, which it is, so I can see the mask, and then I can use any mask tool. This time I'll use the X-spline.
