- You know, Rich, obviously, before the advent of really big image sensors and super affordable fast lenses, one of the only ways that you could achieve the classic bokeh effect for shooting video was to use a telephoto lens and to create quite a bit of distance between you and your subject. I remember very specifically being on a few productions in hotel rooms where you had to rent the presidential suite. - Right. - Just so we had enough room to put the camera on this side of the room and the subject on this side of the room and shoot with a telephoto lens to get some nice background blur. - Well, if you can get the subject further away from the background it's going to be easier to push that background blur. We've simulated this here, we've placed a mannequin, I'd say, about, what, 30 feet from the background. - Sure, yeah, about that. - Let's take a look at what this looks like.
