- Let's take a few more minutes to just go over the exact options of which overlays are useful in which shooting situations. Remember, you can find these by pressing the menu button here and going to the monitor category. You can decide to see them separately for the LCD display or the HDMI display. Now, I'm going to go ahead and turn on the status text. That's very important so that overlay is added. Same thing here on the back of the camera. If you're not seeing this, make sure status text is enabled. Now we could choose to see what information is being displayed. Notice, when I go to the director view it actually tells them what lookup tables in use. This way they know that a LUT is being applied. This is quite useful if the client wants to know are we recording log? Yeah, there's a LUT applied for preview purposes on set but the footage in the camera is log.
