Welcome

- It can be intimidating to shoot outside, and you can't really wing it when you're dealing with the sun. This course is for photographers, producers, and videographers who want to learn the technique of using the sun to light your talent in a way that makes them look great. Hi, I'm Erik Naso. As a local broadcast DP, I have to shoot in several different settings from our news set to local parks. I have to make our talent look good no matter where I shoot them. Shooting indoors is easy, but outside things can be more challenging. I think a lot of people struggle shooting talent outside. I know I did, and I always dreaded having a shoot on a sunny day. So many challenges. In this course, I'm going to show you how to tame the sun and take control of the lighting. To do this, we need a few different tools like bounce boards and diffusion. But don't worry. I'll show you what you need to know and it's easy to do once you learn how to set this up. I have several different scenarios that show you how to deal with different lighting techniques outside like how to make your subject look great in several different sun angles. And, lighting talent when a logo or landmark has to be behind the person on camera, but maybe the sun isn't in the ideal position. These and more will be covered in this course. Sounds like fun, right? Okay, let's get started.
