What will be covered

- Welcome to multi-platform video producing. I'm director, producer Amy DeLouise and I'll be your guide through this exciting and also sometimes overwhelming new digital media landscape but don't worry, by the end of this course, you're going to be confident about your multi-platform producing and ready to get even more creative with your content. First, let's talk about what we will cover in this course. Our biggest goal for you is to leverage all the storytelling power you have at your fingertips with transmedia delivery. There are so many tools and platforms both for content creation and content delivery to your audience so you need to learn how to use them. We'll also talk about how you can maximize your flexibility so you don't end up at the end of a project without the ability to work it into a new deliverable. We'll also address some key technical issues that you need to understand about all the different platforms and multi-platform producing. The planning process is especially detailed for transmedia which makes sense since you're often planning two, three or 10 different outputs rather than just one. So we'll also talk about planning. In this course, we'll dive into how to improve the audience experience as they consume your content in different viewing and listening environments and on a wide range of devices. Specifically, we'll talk about small and large screens and how they differ. Accessibility is key and we'll discuss how to be sure that audiences with hearing loss or low vision or blindness can access your content. We'll talk about future-proofing. This is an absolutely critical area because you wanna be able to repurpose and retool your content all the time and of course, we'll talk about budget. Don't worry, it's not as hard as you think to plan for multiple outputs. So buckle up and let's get started.
