What is on-demand and why is it important?

- Now that you've delivered your webcast, the lights are down and the cameras are all packed up, how do you ensure that your content continues to make an impact long after the livestream? The answer is on demand delivery. On demand is the ability to serve up your livestream content wherever and whenever the viewer wants it after the event is finished. For many of the live programs we produce, I find that we get the lion's share of unique views over time from on demand playback. Now, of course there's normally a large burst of viewers during the live event, but over time and if the content has legs, on demand accounts for the higher number of eyeballs. This is why I always recommend a post-livestream strategy that serves up on demand content. For one, it gives you a second opportunity to promote the content and connect with the viewer, and it allows them to watch on their own time. It also provides your live viewers an opportunity to revisit the content. Reporters in particular love this when they need to fact check or review the event for their story. On demand is exactly what it means. It's convenient for your viewers and it gives you a chance to maximize viewership and impact.
