What you can learn in this course

- Hi, my name's Rich Harrington and welcome to this course where we'll explore how to use Adobe Photoshop to create graphics for use in video and motion graphics projects. Photoshop actually has a long history in the world of video and film, but not everybody knows how to make it work properly. What we're going to cover in this course are a wide range of both technical and design skills. We'll take a look at things like truly understanding how pixels work, including non square pixels, which may be used in certain video formats. We'll also address how to prepare a photo so it's optimized for use on a video screen. We'll address how to work with logos, including preparing them to be used as overlays, as well as animations. We'll explore how to use gradients as custom transitions in your video editing tools. And how we can also do things such as fix lens correction issues or distortion that might be created in a video file. We'll take a look at saving time by harnessing the power of actions. And there's actually a set of video actions built into Photoshop that I co-authored. We'll explore how to affect color and really get the best looking images for use on a screen, as well as how to change the depth of field in a photograph so that it works quite well to help you tell your story. And we'll explore some specific ways that tools from Adobe, such as Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere can work together. We've got a lot of ground to cover, so let's begin.
