What you should know before watching this course

- In order to get the most out of this class, there's not a lot of background knowledge you need. We're going to tackle things from the ground up, making sure you're comfortable with project management. But I do assume that you know your own business. Perhaps you work in the world of video, creating content for others and typically working on what I call a team sport. Video frequently involves many different people, both on your team, as well as people you need to interact with as you start to spec out the project or develop the video. You might be a photographer. And many photographers do work alone, but it is possible that you have assistance and certainly multiple clients with overlapping projects. These require you to be organized and really juggle several schedules at once. Or perhaps you're tackling a graphic design project or a website project. You're going to learn skills that can help with all of these. The key here is we are focusing on what it takes to get the job done. When it comes to project management, I'm going to challenge you to change your workflow. I want to share with you best practices and make sure that you are prepared to succeed. As such, you're going to spend a little bit of time evaluating your own company and your own demands, what's expected of you. I encourage you to approach this class with an open mind. There are a lot of things that you take for granted that you assume are correct that you might discover may not be the most efficient way. Our goal here is increase productivity, reduce stress, and more profitability, the things that you really need to succeed in the long term in the world of business.
