- Now, I'll be presenting specifically about video production, but you can take the concepts from this course and apply them to other creative disciplines, like animation, audio production, and photography. The information in this course is designed for the beginner video producer, but it's applicable to any experience level in the creative industry. This course covers the overall workflow for the production of an original project from script to screen. Throughout this course, I'll be demonstrating from a real project I produced from concept to delivery. It's called Water Science with Wade, an elementary education series where we, essentially, rebooted the Bill Nye the Science Guy concept with an 18-year-old host. Now, this is not the way that video production works, this is one way, using my thought process and experience. Also, understand that the role of a video producer is constantly evolving, so you may wear many hats during your production process. I recommend using what I present here as a basis to understanding the video production workflow and then modify this information for your needs. In the exercise files that accompany this course, I've provided an example of a client assessment with questions designed to help you better understand what the client needs from this project. Now, if you have access to the exercise files for this course, you can download them to your desktop. If you don't have access to the exercise files, that's okay, you can still follow along. At times, the amount of information we'll be sharing may seem overwhelming, especially to those of you new to video producing. And I can ensure you, you won't use all of these steps and ideas for every project. But, like any other skill, the more projects you complete as a video producer, the easier it becomes. All of these ideas will become second nature.
