(dog whining) (upbeat music) I know, you're probably chomping at the bit to get filming, but have you considered doing a test shoot first? Test shoots can be a crucial part of film making. But you've got to know when to do them. So here are a few tips on when you want to do a test shoot. First, you might want to do a test shoot if you have a particularly difficult shot to achieve such as super slow motion, or if you have advanced camera movement you want to test. You'll also want to do one when CGI or special effects work is needed. Shooting reference footage can help your special effects artists test out their work ahead of time to make sure you capture exactly what they need for the actual shot.
