Who does The VFX team work with?
- [Instructor] The visual effects supervisor will work with the other departments during pre-production and production. Let's look at this in a little more detail. The producer will have hired the visual effects supervisor to work with them. The supervisor may be from one of the visual effects companies that will be working on the movie, or they might be separate from any of these companies. In the case of Space Cop, we're going to assume that this visual effects supervisor is separate from any of the visual effects companies that will be working on the project later. We might also refer to this supervisor as the client side supervisor. The script, story boards, and pre-visualization will be the starting point for the rest of pre-production. They will allow all of the departments to understand what the director is hoping to show in each scene, and from there, discussions can start about how these images can be achieved.
