Working with children

- Working with children as I mentioned earlier can be challenging but there are several things you can do to make them more comfortable being on camera and you happier with what you have in the edit room. When you're working with children on your set, you want to make sure to bring them in early so then you get to know each other, you, your crew and where they'll be working. You want to get them comfortable talking to you and to each other so they'll feel comfortable delivering their lines. During all that hurry-up-and-wait time, one thing you can do is have them play games with each other, have someone designated on set just to work with them or just to hang out with them while all those other things are going on and that will keep them engaged in the process and happy on set. With children you want to keep things very simple and very informal. You can try creating situations for them to inhabit. Let them paint their own scene, where are they, what are they doing, what's around them.…
