- So part of being thorough in your job is to do a little bit of pre research. Just like we did research about how we want this to look, and how to feel. Just like doing research about how someone looks. We need to do research about where we're going to do the shoot. And one of the best ways to do that is to communicate with the client. Understand where you're going to be shooting before you get there, and in fact, if there's an opportunity where they can take pictures with an iPhone and send it to you, that's even better. Then you can get a decent lay of the land before you've even walked in the building. So there's three critical questions to ask a client before you get to the shoot. One question is, how accessible is the building? Is it easy to get in, to get up the elevator, and get to where you're going? The other question would be about power.
