Working with raster logos

- If you're working with a logo file, it might also be a raster file, which isn't as good as a vector, but that's okay, maybe it's a JPEG or a PNG file that you were provided, or maybe it's something you had to scan in. In this case, I'm going to show you an old logo for my company. We've since updated it, but it has some interesting problems. Look closely at the logo. This was actually scanned on a digital scanner and brought in. I know this because if I take the eyedropper, you'll notice that the top edge here has a white point of 9% and the lower edge is zero. Well, this actually had a little bit of gradation on the paper. Additionally, there's some areas here that are white. What I find most useful is to go to the channels panel. We'll convert this here and just duplicate the channel. Now we can use this and call it Alpha. You see we have the alpha channel and what we need to do is clean this up a little bit, so…
