- In school, I studied Journalism, and first started my career working in Broadcasting for traditional television stations. I've been amazed at how fast the world is changed. In the past, control rooms would have tons of equipment. Back in Engineering, each deck would cost more than a car. You'd have to use expensive satellite dishes to get content out there for broadcasting. And we'd also then be able to put this content only in select places. If you wanted your content to appear in a major venue, like Times Square, it was extremely expensive to do so. Of course, it wasn't just video content, we had a rich publishing community. I also published a music magazine that was in print and online for many years. The publishing of print is still important, but has changed significantly. For many folks who have been traditional journalists, or whos' primary outlet was the printed page, that's moved online.
