- [Narrator] The visual effects supervisor has the ultimate say in how the visual effects are produced for a project, but there can be multiple supervisors on the same project. There will be the client-side supervisor, who works with the director and other departments during pre-production and the shoot, and then there will be the vendor supervisors who work at the visual effects companies that produce the final work. If the production team already knows which visual effects company they are going to be working with, these two rolls might be filled by the same person, but often the producers don't assign work to the visual effects studios until after the shoot has finished. So, the client supervisor will be hired directly by the producers, just like they would hire a director of photography, or a production designer.
