(upbeat music) - Eye line can be a little tricky, Amy, and I'm going to be focusing on the camera side. So, I'm going to need to adjust to you. You're going to get the subject comfortable. You're going to maintain eye-contact with them. Why is that so critical during the interview that the person knows where they're looking? - Well, actually, it turns out that eye-contact is something that's programmed into us basically since we were babies, and, so, people will keep talking as long as I maintain eye-contact with them. They will also stop talking if I drop eye-contact with them, which is sometimes a trick I use when they're really just going on and on and on, and I need them to stop, but other than that, I do not want to be looking down at my notes. A lot of times, interviewers will have lots and lots of notes, and that's okay, but usually I will only look at them, I keep it low in my lap, and only glance down when we've cut or when the question is finished, never during an answer…
