The importance of hardware whitelisting

- If you planning on streaming from a highly restrictive IT environment, you'll need to connect with the onsite IT team so they can approve, or whitelabel, the MAC addresses for your machines. So what exactly does that mean? Many organizations have security protocols in place that prevent external machines from connecting to their network. By providing your MAC, or machine access control address, IT can temporarily approve access for you to connect and transmit your live stream from within their facility. This is a process that should begin at least one week before show time, to ensure that IT knows you're coming and that you have connectivity when it's time to go live. Successful live video streaming is all about logistics and preparation. Take the time in advance to dot your i's and cross your t's and get your machines whitelabeled, especially when working in a restrictive IT environment.
