- Making your talent look as best as they possibly can is your top priority as the videographer. One example of that is being thorough, and what I mean by that is before you even get to the shoot, you should do a little bit of research as to how this person looks. What's their skin complexion? How wide is their face? Is their face round or is their face square? Do they have hair, do they not have hair? Things like that. Are they male, are they female? That's an important one, too. The approach that you're going to take to your lighting can heavily depend on that factor. What does the person look like? To make the person look the best that they can look. A lot of times I come across people who might be sensitive about their age, or they might have a facial scar or something that they just don't want to highlight.
