- We've spent two courses planning and executing the Project RELO documentary shoot. Now we're finally going to realize the fruits of all our labor and edit the film. Now, I personally love the editing process most of all, especially for documentaries. That's because when you're editing a documentary, you are truly creating the narrative. We have an incredible mountain of footage captured over the course of our week-long shoot, and that week was the culmination of several months of doing research and making connections, conducting meetings, and finding those narrative threads that we wanted to explore. In all, our assets consist of 12 in-depth interviews with some incredible personalities, as well as hours and hours of B-roll and observational footage that tell the story of the Project RELO trip. In all, we've got more than 35 hours of footage, and out of that we're going to make a roughly 25-minute documentary. That's about an 85:1 shooting ratio. That is, we have 85 times more…
