What you should know

- [Instructor] In order to get the most out of this course, you should already have knowledge of HTML and CSS. You should have an understanding of the DOM and be able to read and comprehend what a coded webpage means and what it's attempting to produce. You will need to be familiar with these front-end coding languages as I will not be explaining why I am building a page out in this way, but rather showing you how you could do it in a more efficient manner. What do you need? You need a computer and an IDE that either supports the Emmet plugin or comes with it pre-installed. I will be using Brackets and Visual Studio Code in this course, but if your preferred editor is something else, you should have no problem taking the skills we are covering here and using them in just about any editor and most online services. You can see the plethora of supported applications by visiting emmett.io/download. And finally, you need to be excited about becoming more efficient and saving time. This is a hands-on course, so right from the beginning, you will be using Emmet and learning how to take advantage of all the amazing features it has to offer in order to help you to become super-fast at writing code. I am so efficient and speedy at coding pages that I can literally get the HTML and CSS done in minutes in most cases. It still blows me away. I can't wait to share how I'm able to do this with you, so let's do this. Let's learn how to code faster than you ever thought imaginable.
