Challenge: Rewriting to remove hyperbole
- In this exercise, the file called chapter 5, Jargon, in the exercise folder, we're going to rewrite this service description to make sure the factual information isn't smothered by opinion-based or unverifiable information. The process to follow is quite simple. Weave each sentence and ask yourself whether the words in it contain a statement of fact or whether they're just hyperbole. Then, decide whether the statement is written in an understandable way. We're obviously not just concerned with reducing and removing jargon. You should also apply the techniques you learnt in previous chapters to ensure the text turns out as concise and readable as possible. That might involve using shorter words, sentences and paragraphs, creating bulleted lists, and placing the most important information at the beginning of the product description.
