- Now that you've had a chance to work through the exercise file, I'm going to show you my edits. Remember though, that there are many different ways that you could've changed the text to make it more legible for an online audience. Follow along, and see if you made similar changes. First, let's look at the original text and then the version I created from it. You'll find a more readable copy of my revised version, in the exercise file. You can see immediately that the edited version is shorter. There was quite a bit of text in the original version that wasn't necessary to get the key points across. The author talked in the first person quite a bit, but the background story he tells seem to get in the way of the points he was trying to make. Although he was trying to be chatty and approachable, it wasn't respectful of his readers time. I'd suggest that it's better to remove the back story entirely. I definitely managed to meet my 50% reduction goal here, in fact, it's more like a 70%…
