Create big differences

- Solving the small annoyances reduces friction and helps people feel good about using your interface. But, consider this, what if you solved annoyances in a section of workflow that didn't even need to be there? To stop doing that, you need to think of ways to make sure the whole interaction is appropriate. If you do this, you might be surprised by how much more streamlined the interaction feels, even to the point where users consider it to be a whole different approach to the task. One of the laziest ways to create software is just to duplicate the existing physical task, complete with the current physical forms and storage mechanisms, or to copy the existing software, whether that's a previous release or a competitor's product. If you do this, you'll undoubtedly be able to check off all the functionality boxes, but the interaction itself will probably be horrible.
