- Hi, everyone, this is Sue Jenkins with productivity tips for Web designers. In this week's lesson, you'll discover how making fine-tuned adjustments to type shapes in Illustrator can help make your logos and graphics more unique and memorable than using straight fonts alone. There are two ways to edit the text characters in Illustrator, one is with the Touch Type Tool, which is new in Creative Cloud, and the other is by converting your fonts to outlines. So we'll start with me showing you how to use the Touch Type Tool. First you'll select your text, and then you need the Touch Type Tool, which you can get through the toolbar by clicking and holding down the "T" and scrolling all the way to the bottom of the fly-out menu. Then you'll click on the letter that you want to manipulate, you'll notice that there are four hollow circles on the letter.
