Today, I'm speaking with freelancer evangelist Paul Jarvis. Paul has been freelancing for at least 15 years, I figure, because that's about how long I've known him. More recently, Paul has been teaching other freelancers how to successfully manage their businesses through his program, Creative Class. Paul, aside from being a great designer and an Internet-famous teacher, you've had a successful and long-lasting freelance career. What's the best thing about being a freelancer? - I think the fact that I can define my own metrics of success, and it's not like a company-wide policy or mission statement, is probably the best, because if I want to focus more on something else other than just revenue or sales, or that sort of thing, I can.
