Resolving disagreements
- The bigger the team you're managing the more likely it is you'll find yourself in a position to resolve a hung jury where half the room wants to take one course of action and the other half prefers another. I try to avoid letting project decisions go to a vote and leaving half the participants unhappy with the outcome, so here are a few tactics to try if you find yourself in the midst of a disagreement. Once again start by revisiting the project strategy and goals and remind everyone of them and then see if you can map the decision at hand in terms of whether it brings you closer to those goals or not. If the decision is a matter of visual approach, perhaps a disagreement over design details, consider whether it's something that can be A/B tested with some beta testers for further feedback.
