Action sequence

- Here's where the action starts. Once you setup your story, something happens. It has to happen. If it doesn't, it's just background. In one of my market research studies, I met a teenage girl, Megs. One day, she was scrolling through Instagram and she came across a photo of a pet hedgehog. She instantly fell in love and she rushed to ask her mother to buy one for her. This igniting action is the first movement that propels the momentum of your story. Now, the fun part. There has to be tension in drama to make it a good story, so with each action, the character sets out to reach a goal, an obstacle stand in the way. Megs wants a pet hedgehog, but her mother says, absolutely no. She's says, Meg, sweetie, hedgehogs, they're wild animals, they're not pets. Also, aren't they nocturnal. They won't even be awake when you are, and they're pokey. You're not going to want to cuddle up to that. No hedgehog. Goal?…
