Building an empathy map

- An empathy map is a way to quickly summarize what you learn about your users. In this context, the map is a visual representation of components but doesn't necessarily represent any relationships or imply a time or order to the pieces of information. An empathy map is usually split into four quadrants where you represent what your persona says, does, thinks, and feels. While not everything represented will be specifically related to the product or service you're working on, it'll paint a picture of the person as a whole and how your product fits into their life. You typically put a representative image or the name of the persona type in the middle and create four sections around it. The says section can be taken literally from research sessions and not to represent typical verbatim quotes from this kind of user.
