Choosing methods to tell a story

- At its heart, user research is about understanding users and their interactions with technology, products, and services. It means gathering data and conveying that data to a company so that the company can do better at meeting user needs. But it's not just data, bits of information that need to get conveyed. Rather, it's data framed coherently in storytelling form. And storytelling is emotive. It captures the reader or the listener and gives them something to lock onto, something, someone to feel for. More than once, I was told by a client that they use an issue-tracking system like Jira. "After you're done with the research," they say, "just go into Jira, enter fixes, "and the product team will prioritize them."
