Getting good feedback

- Questionnaires are one of the most frequently used and also most commonly abused methods of getting information from a group of people. If you are conducting market or marketing research, doing usability research, or just trying to get some answers to some questions about your customers, the chances are that you'll consider running a survey to get that information. We'll start this course by talking about when surveys are appropriate, and what alternatives you have. Then, we'll look at the best way to work out which questions to ask and how to ask them in an unambiguous and unbiased way. Next, we'll cover the steps involved in finding people to answer your questions and how you can reward them for their time. There are lots of different online tools for sending your survey out. We'll discuss your options, and also walk through creating a survey in one of the free survey tools. Finally, we'll work through the process of analyzing and reporting on the results of your survey so that you know what you found, and so that you can convince other people to take action on the findings. I'm Chris Nodder, I'm a UX researcher and interaction designer with a background in psychology. I've been creating surveys as part of my job for more than 25 years now. It's never been easier to create and field a survey than it is today. And with a couple of tips from this course, you should be up and running pretty fast. So let's get started.
