- Once you get your resume past the automated search process, it's finally going to be seen by a real person. Although the process varies, in most organizations, it's typically split between a recruiter, who has more of a human resources function, and a hiring manager, who's part of the product team. The recruiter will be the first to read through the list of resumes they've received. They will generally check for two things. Does this person have the qualifications for the job, and do they display the right qualities and characteristics to fit in at this company and be a good long-term hire? The recruiter will then create a list of candidates who meet these criteria and send all the relevant resumes to the hiring manager on the team that has an opening.
