- Interview questions fall into a couple of broad categories. Once you know what those are, you can prepare answers that work well in each format. It's likely most interviews will start with some opening questions, like, "Tell me about yourself," or "Why do you want to work for this company, in this role?" They're an easy way to break the ice, while still learning something useful, and also a great jumping-off point for further questions. They also tell the interviewer whether you've done your research into the company and the role. Most of your interview should be a series of behavioral questions. Behavioral or situational questions have the highest predictive power for your fit with the job. The interviewer will ask something along the lines of, "Tell me about the a time when," or they'll pick one of your past jobs and ask, "When you were at company X, did you?"
