Reasons to choose the traditional research approach

- While there are some real advantages to conducting research remotely, there's always going to be a place for face-to-face research. When you're sitting with someone, it's easier to build rapport, read somebody's face and body language, and understand when to probe appropriately. It might look a little different in a post-COVID world, but there's always going to be a place for face-to-face research. When the specific physical context or environment is a large component of the overall experience, you probably want to be in-person. For instance, let's say you're usability testing a mobile app for a construction project manager. You'll probably need to see what it's like for someone to be on a construction site with safety equipment, like gloves on, and dealing with the elements, like bright sun or a lot of dust.
