- When it comes to creating a report on your findings and recommendations the most important thing is that it gets read. So forget that boring 50-slide PowerPoint, because right now we're going to shift that mindset and think about creating your report in a way that moves the needle in your organization and serves as a platform to share your customers' most important stories. Here are four tips to writing a report that engages the reader and causes them to perk up and take action. First, find out who the report is for and what they most care about. Deliver it in a compelling format for that audience. For example, a report to a marketing team that's in the trenches and wants every single detail might be very different from a report to a company CEO who requires a high-level summary of strategic recommendations based on the data.
