What is ideation?
- [Instructor] In the user experience world, ideation is a fancy name for coming up with new ideas. Ideation is a big part of the design process, based on the idea that it's much more likely you'll find a creative and innovative solution to a problem if you first broaden your area of investigation to consider more options. And only then, narrow down by picking the best pieces from the options you uncovered. Ideation is something you can do on your own, but it tends to work better when you share your ideas with other people who can critique and add a different perspective. Working as a group lets you build on each other's ideas to come up with a better end result than if you'd worked alone. It also gives the whole team a reason to buy into the solutions that you develop together. There are many ways to do ideation.
