What are intercept studies?
- [Instructor] Intercept studies ask for people's thoughts and opinions at the time and location that they're conducting the task you care about. That means you're more likely to get answers that reflect their true behavior rather than what they remember about it after the fact. Intercepting users is actually a recruiting technique rather than a research technique. You can pair it with several different types of research like questionnaires, prototype usability studies, first look studies, or even short card sorts. The benefits of intercepting users are that you don't need to set aside time for recruiting and scheduling participants. There's a much lower cost for rewards and normally, you don't even need to arrange a location to conduct the research because the intercept study happens in a real life location.
