What you should know

- There are no prerequisites for this course. It doesn't matter whether you come from an IT, design, or business background. It would help however, if you're aware of the general concepts around lean, and agile. And are somewhat familiar with the development processes used in your organization. This course covers the business justification and strategic considerations for using design thinking techniques. It's about getting the buy-in to do design thinking in your organization. Then how to go about making it happen properly. We'll talk about the time and cost benefits of using design thinking. And look into how to get stakeholder buy-in. How to get highly technically focused individuals to empathize with user needs. And how to encourage creativity from the various people in your organization. This course doesn't go into the real detail about each of the techniques used in a design thinking process. If that's your focus you should also watch my course on applying design thinking. You can still get benefit from watching this course first though. The two go hand in hand, covering the philosophy and implementation of design thinking.
