- Think about all the places online that have information about you, especially the ones that you created yourself. You have to assume that if it's searchable online, recruiters and hiring managers can and potentially will be taking a look. Most likely, this is something that they'll not do until at least after some initial interviews but it's always possible that recruiters may use social media to form an initial impression of you too. Everything you post online is fair game for a recruiter. You might think of LinkedIn and Twitter as your work persona and Facebook and Instagram as your home persona but often, recruiters will check out all these sites and more looking for information on whether you're likely to be a good fit for their organization.
