Active Directory-integrated zones
- [Instructor] When working with DNS zones, it is always recommended that whenever possible, that you use what's called an Active Directory-integrated zone, and the reason why is because it is the most efficient and most secure form of DNS zone that we have. So, to take a look at why it's more efficient and more secure, we need to go to a server that is currently hosting an Active directory integrated zone, and I'm going to select DC-1, which is a domain controller for the Landon Hotel domain, as well as a DNS server for the LandonHotel.local domain. And this, by the way, is a requirement in order to host an Active Directory-integrated zone. You have to be both DNS and a domain controller. Here in the server manager on DC-1, I will go to the Tools menu, and then select DNS. This takes us into the DNS manager, where we see DC-1, and then under our Forward Lookup Zones, you'll see here that we have a number of different zones, but LandonHotel.local is what we're interested in here, and…
