- [Instructor] Once an administrator gets a feel for how important log files can be and they've configured their preferences as new custom views, the next thing to figure out his how to get the logs from all other servers to appear in one place. There are two different ways to do this. We can choose to view logs from a single remote server or we can configure multiple servers to forward their events to one or more locations that are gathering the data. Let's take a look at both. First, if I want to take a look at the log files on another server, but I'm not looking to create a permanent relationship between the two machines, I can right click on this Event Viewer Local at the top of this tree in the left hand pane and select Connect to Another Computer. Now this dialogue appears pretty simple. I can just type in another computer name and click OK, but it often fails because of a Windows firewall restriction on the remote computer that I'm trying to monitor. I went ahead and did it…
