- Before a user that's a member of the domain can sit down at a computer and log on to that machine and gain access to network resources and domain-based resources, that computer must be a member of your active directory environment. In this presentation, and in this session, we're going to be looking at why do we create a computer account and why do we join that computer to the domain and what are the benefits? We'll look at how do we join the computer to the domain? We'll look at it from join end from the client side, or sitting down at the machine and joining it to the domain. We'll also look at prestaging that computer account in active directory. Then we'll look at an issue that a lot of us have come across, where we've had to go in and reset the computer account so the computer account can now continue to participate in the domain. We'll talk about why we had to reset the account. Starting off with why do we want to join this computer to the domain? What's the compelling issue?…
