Datacenter Firewall concepts

- [Instructor] Microsoft came out with the Datacenter Firewall in Windows Server 2016, but in Server 2019 they added the ability to audit log files for further dissemination. You need to first install the network controller, the Datacenter Firewall is a network layer firewall. It has many capabilities found in hardware firewalls, such as being able to configure protocols, source and destination port numbers, source and destination IP addresses, stateful inspection, and it's also a multitenant firewall, which allows you to have various different customers all on the same server without them being able to see each other. As you can see from this graphic, we have virtual machines in blue for Company A and virtual machines in red for Company B. Using the Datacenter Firewall access control lists we can keep the red Company B virtual machines from being able to communicate with the blue Company A virtual machines and we do that because of the multitenancy capabilities of the Datacenter…
