- [Instructor] So far in this course, we have installed our server, we've established its identity on the network, and we have installed roles for various functions that the server will provide. And we even touched lightly on some resources that can help keep those configurations in place. Now it's time to turn our attention to setting up storage, or in other words, configuring the hard drives to store anything and everything else that will need to live on this server. You may recall from our original planning worksheet that this is a file server after all, and storage space is important. So we'll do that configuration starting with the physical disks and working our way into the logical disks. And there is one desktop experience tool for managing disks, partitions, volumes, file systems, that's been around since Windows 95. So this is where we're going to start.
