- IPsec can help protect data in transit through a node by providing authentication, integrity checking and encryption. The design of IPsec helps it to provide better security than some other protection methods like transport layer security or secure shell which only provide partial protection. Now one cool thing about IPsec is that network administrators don't have to configure security for individual programs and that's because all of the network traffic between any specified hosts are going to be protected by IPsec. So, what exactly is IPsec. Well, IPsec is a suite of protocols that allows for secure encrypted communication between two computers. And how do we use it? Well, there's a few different ways.
