- [Instructor] If you want to scan many computers using multiple TCP or UDP ports, you should probably use a tool such as Nmap. But if you're just doing a one-off, then you can use the Telnet tool which is a free installation tool we can get on any Windows operating system. We're going to go through our add roles and features wizard and when we get to features, we're going to scroll down and choose the Telnet Client and we'll install. It usually just takes a few seconds to do that. Telnet traditionally has been a way where we can connect into routers or switches also now servers so we can get a command shell into those operating systems. We can also use it for troubleshooting whether or not a port is open on another host. It's all installed so we'll close and we're going to open up a command prompt. Let's type the word telnet followed by the name of another server. We're going to pick our domain controller. And we'll put in a TCP port that is most likely open, port 445. It's used for…
