Maintaining the Active Directory (AD) database

Now that Active Directory is installed in your environment, it's now time we may have to do some actual maintenance on the database. Or in the event that we were to accidentally delete an object how do we go about restoring that object into the database. So in this session, we're going to be looking at a feature that Microsoft added to us in the Windows 2008 environment referred to as a snapshot. We'll also look at how to restart a domain controller without actually restarting the PC just being able to restart the domain controller service, or stopping the domain controller service to do maintenance. Well, we'll talk about backing up and restoring the Active Directory database using our system state backup, and then we'll finish up looking at a feature that Microsoft gave us in Server 2008 R2 with the Active Directory Domain Services Recycle Bin and how it's changed a little bit in Server 2012.
