- [Instructor] In Microsoft Message Analyzer, a Session is the collection of Captured Messages that you are sorting, comparing, and examining to better understand what's going on in your environment. The first Session that we'll create will be a Live Trace or a Capture of what's happening real-time from the perspective of this workstation. I'm going to launch the Analyzer from this icon that I placed on the Start menu and you may have noticed that I did not select Run as Administrator. Since I'm logged into this workstation with the domain Administrator account those credentials are covered but if you're logged in with any other type of user account you will need to select to run this as an Administrator if you want to do any kind of Local Trace. Now finding the button to Start a Local Trace is easy enough, I'm going to select that and then I'm going to generate some pretty specific network traffic once this Session is running.
